MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

Kevin

“In 1997 I began my journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Roy Harris in San Diego, California. In 2005, I moved to Tucson, Arizona and founded Saguaro Jiu Jitsu. Saguaro Jiu Jitsu continued until 2009 when I became the head Jiu Jitsu Instructor at Boxing Inc, where I ran the BJJ program at three separate locations.

In 2011 I earned my black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Roy Harris. In 2019, after retiring from Federal Law Enforcement, I was able to live my dream of teaching full time.”

“I've been involved in combat sports and martial arts most of my life. As a teenager and young adult, I trained boxing from 2001 until 2011. In 2012 I became involved in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). In 2016 I began training Judo and Sambo. I'm currently a brown belt in BJJ, a black belt in Judo, and have been an instructor since 2014.

Through training and competing in combat sports I've learned that in real life we don't rise to our expectations, we fall to the level of our training. Training is an opportunity to build mental toughness and a tool for developing your potential as a person."

“My name is Ryan. I'm a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wrestled most of my life. I'm also a Level 4 Modern Army Combatives Instructor. I currently serve as Readiness NCO E-7 for the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

I believe that work ethic and humility are key in progression and the only competition you should care about is yourself. Compete against yourself, because if you beat who you were yesterday then there is no telling what you’ll be tomorrow.”

Ryan

"I was born and raised in Marshfield. I have always felt a strong connection to the community and want to give back. I have spent much of my life competing in athletics. I started Brazilian Jiu jitsu (BJJ) in December of 2014 and have learned other martial arts along the way.

I am currently a BJJ purple belt and a Judo brown belt. I am passionate about hard work and fitness."
